Each room is very comfortable with his own atmosphere and en suite bathroom. Large and beautiful garden with majestic trees and stunning views. The house built in 1901 has a lot of charm and character, which has been restored to its original splendour. The Guesthouse also features true South African character, including paintings from local artist depicting the beautiful South African Landscapes. We are situated in a very peaceful and safe area of the picturesque town of Swellendam, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The majestic house with its large wrap-around stoop is the ideal place to come and relax after a busy day exploring the wonderful Overberg region. Whether relaxing on the stoop with its comfortable sofa's or sitting under one of the large trees in the beautiful garden, peace and tranquillity is what you will experience at this Guest House. Braeside is situated centrally and is within walking distance to all the local attractions and restaurants. Turn right into Voortrekstraat (which is the main street of the town) and then continue for approximately 4Km to where the road forks. Please note that we do consider a cancellation on merit, if it is truly beyond the guests’ control, and will charge accordingly. Early arrivals: Early check-in is only possible if the room is ready for occupation. If not, you are welcome to leave your luggage at the guest house while you go out and explore or you are welcome to have a cup of tea and relax in our lounge or garden until your room is ready. If monies are deposited into our account incorrectly we do not refund until cleared with our bank and will only refund directly into the original payer’ account less any banking and transaction fees. Smoking is not permitted in the rooms or the manor house, but ashtrays are provided on the private patios.
